The city of Prescott is an interesting place in terms of
aesthetics because of the presence of many Victorian style
homes. Prescott has been deemed the most
"Midwestern" cities of the southwest, and many of
the city’s Victorian homes are on the National Register of
Historic Places.
Prescott is also known for its famous Whiskey Row, which
used to be the epitome of the nightlife. Currently, it is
still an area that provides a lot of the evening activities
with many grand prestigious hotels lining the streets.
Prescott also holds the honor of being the setting for a
handful of motion pictures.
For the avid golfer, Prescott has six golf courses inside
the city and many more that lie just outside in surrounding
towns.
Prescott also has a retirement home that has been around
since the turn of the century. It is the Arizona Pioneers’
Home and it is today operated by the state. The home
originally only housed men, but a wing built in the twenties
to house women expanded their operation. The retirement home
is still in operation today.
