General Hawaii Information

As everyone knows, the Hawaiian Islands are as close to Paradise as one can get: absolute gems of gleaming, verdant foliage surrounded by the deep, blue Pacific. And everyone knows how expensive they are with a cost-of-living rate at 35% above the national average. So, if your wallet is on the thin side, you should probably continue your search for a Hawaii look-alike. Still, some areas on the islands are less expensive than others, but nothing is cheap. Real estate is the single largest expense. Food, except for pineapple, is higher than on the mainland because much of it is shipped in to the islands. Milk, eggs, and fresh vegetables cost twice as much as they do at home. But, if you don’t have to count pennies, there are fewer parts of the globe as idyllic and sublime as the Hawaiian Islands.
