The city has a
lively business community and is ranked among the top places in
the nation to farm, bike and study. Greenville was named one of
the "100 Best Communities for Young People by America’s
Promise Alliance. Other distinctions include "Sportstown
USA" by Sports Illustrated and "BMX Pro Town
USA."
The population of Greenville is over 75,000
residents and is served by Pitt-Greenville Airport as well as
the Charlotte/Douglas International Airport. Pitt County
Memorial Hospital, one of the largest in North Carolina, is
located in Greenville. It serves as a teaching hospital for the
Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University.
Activities in Greenville include walking,
biking, canoeing, kayaking and boating along one of the largest
greenways on the east coast. In addition, the Greenville Museum
of Art is a great attraction for a rainy day when the multiple
parks and golf courses are closed.
