Cape May is located on 2.8 square miles at
the southern tip of New Jersey with year-round residential
population of 4,034 people. The population reaches 100,000
when factoring in the seasonal residents. Cape May has been
recognized as one of the top 10 beaches by the Travel Channel
and its shores draw visitors from all over the world.
Tourism is the major industry for Cape May,
with fishing (commercial and sport) coming in second to the
economy. In the winter, the temperatures average around 40
degrees and the city turns into a Dickensian-period wonderland
through the holidays. In the summer, the temps can reach 84
degrees.
