Branson, Missouri is sometimes referred to
as a "family friendly Las Vegas" due to its numerous
shows and attractions in a strip setting. Tourism is the
primary economic source for this town.
Located in the southwestern part of the
state, Branson has a population of 6,050 residents but
attracts thousands of tourists each year. Nearly 52 theatres
showing over 100 live shows, Silver Dollar City, museums,
lakes, golf courses, festivals and outdoor fun make Branson
one of the most popular Midwest vacation sites.
Winters in Branson are fairly mild, dipping
into the 20s and 30s, but with very little snowfall. Summers
can be humid and reach the 90s, but with the Ozark lakes to
swim and boat in there are plenty of ways to keep cool in the
sun.
