Bloomington, Indiana
Back to Indiana
Bloomington, Indiana has a population of nearly 70,000
people. The average temperatures run from 30 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit in
the winter and summer months, respectively. And Bloomington sits on top
of Southern Indiana’s rolling hills, which is a change of pace from
the cities north of Bloomington that are built on flat land.

It is also home to Indiana University, home of the
Indiana Hoosiers. IU has been an established
presence in Bloomington since 1820. Since then, the university
has been recognized nationwide for its leadership in music,
business, and the Kinsey Institute. The university has also won
recognition for its beautiful campus and was also seen on the
big screen in the motion picture Breaking Away.
But Bloomington isn’t just Indiana University. The city has
numerous other attractions and places of interest, including
their rock quarries, which many residents use for swimming and
diving. Bloomington is located near the Brown
County State Park, the Hoosier National Forest and is also home to the Upland Brewing Company, Indiana’s largest
microbrewery. |
If you are concerned with your health and issues like
second-hand smoke, you will be happy to know that Bloomington was the
first city in Indiana to ban smoking in all public and private businesses
throughout the city.
